Website Goal

The goal of my website is to display my plans and actions for my career field in Business Management. I want this website to be easily accessible and clear in my purpose.

Five helpful websites on creating and designing a website were:
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Website
http://lscr.berkeley.edu/advice/web/design
http://uxdesign.smashingmagazine.com/2008/01/31/10-principles-of-effective-web-design/
http://gadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/01/10-ways-to-design-a-good-web-site/?_r=0
http://www.forbes.com/sites/ilyapozin/2012/02/27/5-steps-to-a-great-website/
all of these sites summarize the same tips for creating a good website like plan out your website first, think of the viewers, follow other websites designs as examples, and try to keep text and images friendly to the users' eyes.

A few websites I really enjoy are:
http://www.rlc.dcccd.edu/
https://twitter.com/
http://www.yahoo.com/
all of these websites are easy to use and are easy on the users' eyes. You can tell that the websites were carefully planned out and are easily accessible. The only website I would change up a bit is Yahoo because sometimes it can be a tad bit overwhelming with so much information on the first page. My favorite site is twitter and I like it so much because of its simplicity. Anyone can navigate around it and all content is pretty straight forward.

A few really bad sites I found were:
http://www.coolmath-games.com/
http://mp3skull.com/
 http://www.mbuzzy.com/
all of these sites have awkward text sizes, positions, and eye-hurting backgrounds. All three could use a complete redesign to their websites.

My career choice is Business Management. I plan on transferring to a 4 year university to earn my bachelors degree in Human Resource Management. One website I found was http://www.shrm.org/Pages/default.aspx its a website for the HR community and gives a bunch of helpful advice about the career. I think this website is great because it provides a great resource for all of the other information I may need in the future
